In a fading rural village, the last remaining members of a once-thriving brass band refuse to let the music die.
At the heart of this stands Piet, the tuba player of the band. Like a lone light in the dark he wanders through the night searching for new members, determined to keep the music alive.
As the documentary unfolds, the remaining musicians of the band are brought into the light, their personal stories shining through as we learn what binds them to their instruments and each other.
“The Music” is a heartfelt, endearing and sometimes humorous tribute to resilience, tradition, and the unwavering refusal to give up—even when the stage grows smaller and the audience fades away.
